Rotate PDF
Fix pages that were scanned sideways or upside down. Rotate in 90-degree steps and download a PDF where the new orientation is saved into the file itself, not just applied in your viewer. Most PDF readers only rotate the view, which is why the page flips back the next time you open it.
How to rotate a PDF
- Load the PDF. Drop in the document with the misoriented pages.
- Pick pages and angle. Click the pages to turn, or select none to rotate every page, then choose 90, 180 or 270 degrees clockwise.
- Apply and download. Click Rotate & download. The rotation is written into the PDF and the corrected file downloads.
Things worth knowing
- Rotation is stored in the page itself, so it persists across viewers, printing and re-sharing.
- Angles are clockwise. To turn a page anticlockwise by 90 degrees, use 270.
- Rotating does not re-render the page, so there is no quality loss and file size is essentially unchanged.
Questions people ask
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything runs in your browser using JavaScript, so the file never leaves your device and there is no server to upload to. Once the page has finished loading you can disconnect from the internet and it still works.
Why does rotating in my PDF reader not stick?
Most readers rotate only the on-screen view and discard it when you close the file. This tool writes the rotation into the page's own properties, so it travels with the document.
Can I rotate only some pages?
Yes. Select the specific pages to turn and the rest are left exactly as they are.
Can I rotate a scanned document?
Yes. Scanned PDFs are images inside a PDF wrapper and rotate the same way. Rotating does not make scanned text searchable, though; that needs OCR, which this tool does not do.
